Use a mount item to learn the mount, then open the stable (U) and ride with R. You dismount to fight.

Pets follow you everywhere - choose one in the stable (U). Rare drops are announced to the whole world!

Caged ratling Ratling	Rare loot: Rat King (and very rarely rats).
Caged batling Batling	Rare loot: Vampire of Varnhal and bats.
Snake egg Snakelet	Rare loot: snakes, especially desert ones.
Spiderling cocoon Spiderling	Rare loot: Giant Spider and venomous spiders.
Wolf pup Wolf Pup	Rare loot: Wolf Lord.
Fawn bell Fawn	Very rare loot: deer and stags.
Husky puppy Snowball	Rare loot: frost wolves and Yeti.
